This web site helps you to find events and video recordings of them. It comprises three main pages:

You can access these via links at the bottom of each page.

The Map search is the quickest way to discover events happening in a particular geographical area. The map defaults to your current location and indicates events by markers. Move the mouse pointer over a marker to see the venue name. Click on a marker to display information about the events at the venue. This information may contain links to web pages for the venue and for the individual events.

By default, events of all types are shown, but you can select a specific type from the Type list. Choose from Classical music, Rock and pop, Folk music, Jazz, Theatre, Comedy, Dance, Talk, Cinema, and Magic.

To change to a different location, either pan or zoom the map in the usual way, or in the Address box enter part of an address until it appears in the drop-down list of suggestions. Then select the address from the list to refresh the map.

By default, only events happening today are shown. To show events for a future date, click the Date box and select from the displayed calendar. To show all events occurring in a particular period of days, select the period from the Days list; for example, select 7 to see what's showing in the next week.

The Time box enables you to display only those events starting at a particular time of day, such as the evening.

Select from the Type list if you're only interested in events of a particular type, such as films.

To let others know about an event or group of events you've found, click on one of the buttons beneath the map. This sends, via e-mail, Facebook, or Twitter, a virtual copy of your map and any event details so the recipients can see what you are seeing right now.

Use the Keyword search to find events and recordings that match one or more of the following: title of the work being played, name of the work's author, name of a performer, venue for the event, and the date of performance. All except the Date box incorporate an autosuggest list from which you must select an item to continue.

When you click the Search button, any events that match your criteria are displayed in the table below. You can click on an event row to play its associated video, if it has one.

Click on a row's Add checkbox to add an event to your basket. This isn't for shopping, but just to collate items that you're interested in viewing once you've finished searching.

Use the Artists' entrance page to enter and submit details of an event. The submission form is divided into three sections:

The following boxes feature an autosuggest list which is dynamically updated as you type: Venue, Work Author, Work Title, Performer Name, Instrument/Role. If the required entry is not shown in the list, press Enter to display a dialog to add a new entry.

Each section will now be described in more detail.

Event Details

Type: From the list, select the entry that most closely describes your event.

Venue: Enter all or part of the name of the venue in which your event is taking place, and select the venue from the list of suggestions. If the venue is not in the list, press Enter to add a new one.

Event url: The url of the web page to which people interested in your event should be directed.

Your email: The e-mail address to which you want a confirmation e-mail to be sent. You must click on the link in this e-mail to confirm your submission and to subsequently change any event details. Any unconfirmed submissions are deleted within two days.

Date: Click on this box to display a calendar from which to select the date of the event.

Time: Select the hour of the event from the first list and the minute from the second list.

Adding Multiple Dates

If there is to be more than one performance of your event, click the Add button to add the date to the list below, then repeat the select/add process to add further dates. To add a range of dates, select the start date, click Add, select the end date of the range, and then click Add End Date.

Notes: Enter any extra information about the event if desired.

Programme

You must add at least one work (song, film, play, piece of music) to the programme list.

Work Author: Enter part of the name of the author of the work until the full name appears in the list of suggestions. If the author's name does not appear, press Enter to add it.

Work Title: Enter the title of the work and select from the list of suggestions, or if required add a new title by pressing Enter.

When you have entered an author and title, click the Add to Programme button to add the work to the programme.

To delete one or more works from the programme, select them and then click the Delete button.

Performers

If possible, you should enter the name of each main performer in the event, or the name of the group.

Name: Enter/select the name of the performer, or press Enter to add them if they don't appear in the suggestions list.

Instrument/role: For a group, leave blank. For a musician, enter/select the name of the instrument the performer will be playing. For an actor, opera singer, or other performer, enter/select the role they will be performing.

Click Add to add the performer to the list. If a performer will be playing several instruments or performing several roles, you must add a separate name and instrument/role combination for each.

If a performer is not playing all the works in the programme, you can link them to the works they are performing. Select their name in the list of performers, then select the works in the programme section. To select several non-contiguous items in the list, hold down the Ctrl key whilst selecting. To select a contiguous group of items, select the first, then hold down the Shift key whilst selecting the last. When the required works are selected, click the Link Performers button to link the works to the selected performer(s). The performer's number appears in brackets after each selected work. To unlink performers from a selected work, click the Unlink button.

When you have entered all necessary details, click the Submit Event button at the bottom of the page. To confirm that you are a person and not a computer sending automated submissions, a Recaptcha dialog is displayed. This asks you to type the two words shown in an image. If you enter them correctly, your event is submitted and an e-mail is sent to the address you specified. You must click the link in this e-mail within 24 hours to prevent your submission from being deleted. If you need to edit your submission at any time, you can click this link again to display and edit it as required.
